Meet the Team: Julie Bryan

20th October 2023

This month we are getting to know Julie, our Senior Payroll Executive who is an integral part of our finance department.

What is your career background?

I started at TTRB way back in 1990 when I came for work experience and have been here ever since! I’ve worked in all of our departments over the years and returned to payroll in 2013.

What does a typical work day look like?

One of my key tasks is to process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls. I assist clients with any payroll queries they may have, answering questions and providing expert guidance. I upload pension files to the pension providers and liaise with HMRC on behalf of our clients.

What do clients worry about the most?

Getting things right with HMRC, which is where we come in!

What do you do when you’re not at work?

Outside of work I prioritise spending quality time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading travel-themed books – novels set in other countries are my favourite. I am a keen gardener too and we grow our own vegetables at home.  Tomatoes were our speciality in 2023 and we ended up with a full season’s supply from the seeds of just one tomato!  In my spare time I love baking – my date and walnut cake, which uses an age-old recipe passed down from my mam, goes down a treat in the office.

What do you enjoy most about working at TTR Barnes?

The family atmosphere – everyone is really friendly and supportive, and you feel like part of a team.
