Over £30m will be recovered from tax dodgers as HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) launches new taskforces around the country to make rapid inspections of various trades and professions.
The taskforces will target individuals in specific high risk trade sectors and locations in the UK who do not pay the right amount of tax.
In the North East of England, taskforces have been launched to look specifically at landlords and hair and beauty salons.
The use of a taskforce suggests that HMRC has evidence of tax evasion in the sectors that they are targeting.
So the message is simple, if you are involved in any of these particular sectors, or indeed are running any other type of business and need help in declaring your income to the Inland Revenue, please contact us.
